STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education enhances many skills in youth:  creativity, critical thinking, problem solving and logistics, to name a few.  “Teaching STEM [to] elementary grades opens the doors for … students to become tomorrow’s movers and shakers.  Young children with a strong foundation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics will go on to play an integral role in our nation’s global competitiveness and economic stability.”**

The percentage of women and minorities that are employed in STEM fields is disproportionately low.  As our communities attempt to grow and evolve, this issue must be recognized and addressed.

Take Your Place, Inc. recognizes the need for underrepresented girls to have the opportunity to enhance their exposure to the STEM fields, and has taken on this challenge as their mission.
